Thursday, September 12, 2019 The Division of Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission is hosting the 2019 Arkansas Minority and Women-Owned Business Matchmaking Event. This FREE event will offer a unique opportunity to meet and network with over 300 small, minority and women-owned businesses and purchasing professionals.
The matchmaking event is the best opportunity for business owners and public and private sector purchasing professionals from across the state to get face-to-face and learn first-hand what they have to sell and what they need to buy.
This event can serve as a way for state purchasing professionals to fill their arsenals with qualified small, minority and women-owned business enterprises to help in fulfilling the state's spending goals as outlined in Act 1080 of 2017.

Registrants will have pre-arranged matchmaking appointments, lasting 12 minutes each, similar to a speed dating event. Each private and public organization (buyer) will be matched with a business registrant(s) (seller) based on General Classification System of Business Categories given during the online registration process.
What To Expect
300 local and regional minority and women-owned business owners and purchasing professionals from federal and state agencies, colleges, universities, prime contractors and major corporations will come together for a full day of procurement opportunities and business workshops on September 12, 2019.
The 2019 Arkansas Minority and Women-Owned Business Matchmaking Event provides unique opportunities for minority and women-owned businesses to meet with suppliers who are motivated to award contracts and sub- contracts to smaller businesses and learn in exclusive business workshops.
While the matchmaking event does not guarantee contracts, simply because of the nature of the normal bidding process between buyers and suppliers, it does create opportunities for small, minority and women-owned businesses to hold personal, one-on-one meetings with potential clients that would have taken weeks or months – if ever – to research and schedule on their own.
Partners for this event include: The Arkansas District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC), Arkansas Procurement Technical Assistance Center (APTAC), Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, Urban League of Arkansas, US Corps of Engineers-Little Rock District, Arkansas Office of State Procurement, Windstream.
The program is specifically tailored to existing small, minority and women-owned businesses that are prepared for the challenges of doing business.
